ZFS on FreeBSD is a very elegant server solution. I certainly like to see some great GUIs created for ZFS, but it’s certainly not to hard to navigate without one. Here is an excellent article that encapsulates several things that I’ve learned over the last 8 months or so of running it myself.

Boy, I became ill when I saw this. One of the comments suggests that we may not see this dearly needed feature. I frankly would rather not live without it (figuratively speaking…).

ZFS is finally working right under FreeBSD as I had better success with it on FBSD than Solaris simply due to some hardware on which I wished to run it as well as netatalk running *much* better (or perhaps I should say more easily) on FBSD.

I’m getting very close to needing zpool or raidz expansion very soon vs adding vdevs and playing games. This would make things much more clean and work as they should for sure. Plus we need to be able to s
