This morning I feel somewhat sobered. My wife came to me and said, “I feel like I’m mourning.” I asked her why and she explained that this economic crisis and the condition of our nation make her feel like someone great has died. She is very concerned about what will happen next and as to what our children will be facing.
I, too, feel this burden. It seems that we have made the full transition from the world superpower to the world’s super-farce. I indeed hope that this is temporary, but the only way that it can be temporary is if we make some changes.
One point of hope, in my mind, is that of the rumblings of Russia. It seems that the Soviet Union is making a comeback to everyone’s dismay. I personally think that these somewhat unspoken threatenings will be a boon for our once great nation. I don’t believe that, as a whole, our nation is capable of inspiring itself, but perhaps we can “receive” inspiration.
We live in a time when the powerful generally glut themselves to the waste and despair of the populous of the nation. Things are growing more difficult on a daily basis and we are loosing our ingenuity and our foundational abilities to provide for ourselves (such as farming, manufacturing and so forth) in an accelerating pace on a daily basis. Indeed, I execrate the thought of loosing our nation.
We must make a difference. We need to stand up and take back our supposed representative government. Can we not any longer speak for ourselves? It seems that our originally beloved system is no longer working and we need to change it foundationally. In addition to some key structural changes that we could make (please let me know if you’d like to know my thoughts therewith as I believe strongly that I have the solution, but it would take some time to delineate my points properly) we need leadership that leads and makes decisions for the people, not for the elect few.
We need to resurrect:
- Agriclture
- Energy self-sufficiency
- Manufacturing
- Reduced costs of living (which can be achieved by being self-sufficient as individuals and as a nation)
- Family values
- National pride and care
- Innovation (eliminate patents and perhaps copyrights: INNOVATE vs. sticking your head in the ground while suing everyone)
- The spirit of exploration and discovery (Space, the ocean and the deep places of the earth are great areas of exploration in addition to the advances of medicine and nanotechnology that we’re making! Necessity is the father of invention, so lets put ourselves in areas that necessitate invention!)
- Charity
- Public works (particularly for prisoners and those with welfare)
- A healthcare system that works (Again, I have a real and tangible solution here that is both practical and would solve the primary problems with current healthcare. Let me know if you’d like for me to expound on these.)
- A desire within more citizens to be healthy in both mind and body
- Provident living
Do you feel that I should add any more things that should be resurrected or instilled in our nation for a revitalization? Please let me know.
I really want to see a difference. We all do. Let’s do something different rather than trying the same old things that we’ve done for the past couple decades.
